Heart of Dixie and Monday Night TV

AS I sit with a cup of coffee and reflect on last night's television offerings, one thing stands out: Jaime King's horrendous southern accent on Hart of Dixie.   I am trying to love this show.   I love Rachel Bilson- The O.C. is one of my favorite shows ever (at least the first few seasons, but that's another story), I love shows with quirky towns (not unlike my other all time fave, Gilmore Girls), and I like a good fish out of water tale.   Unfortunately, while everyone else in Bluebell has a little Southern twang, King's Lemon sounds like she is auditioning for Gone with the Wind.   Enough is enough- it's distracting and it makes her unlikable character even more so.    Tone down the accent ASAP!
Otherwise, how do you think the show is going?   Are things moving too fast with Zoe and George?   I would have liked things explored a little more with Wade.   The writers are clearly setting up a romance with George, and I'm afraid Wade's heart will be collateral damage.

Onto another set of star crossed lovers, did you catch HIMYM?    I was not a fan of Robin and Barney getting together, but I think it's time now.   As the show winds down, I think this needs tied up.   I felt so sad for Barney last night when Robin walked in with the therapist.   She needs to get a clue- a guy like Barney isn't going to open his heart up over and over.
The episode was not one of the best, I though Ted and Marshall could have been funnier with their sandwich buzz, but I like to see Marshall getting ready to be a dad.  I can't wait to see how everything turns out on this show.

First Post!

I use afternoons to clean up my DVR queue.   What was on the agenda for today?   Last night's Millionaire Matchmaker, Chopped, and some recent episodes of Fashion Hunters.   The first two were unremarkable but watchable, enjoyable.  Now, Fashion Hunters is a different story for me.

I want to like this show.  I want to be a Bravo fan, but I have some issues with it.  I like the premise of modern day treasure hunters.   That's why I also watch shows like Pawn Stars or American Pickers- even Antiques Roadshows.  It's fun to see people find value in others' unwanted things.  The Fashion Hunters cast, though, seems greedy and unlikable.   I know they are running a business so money making is key, but they are like vulchers they way they paw (claw? what are vulcher hands called?) all over people's things.   This episode the yeti girl put her big ass feet into someone's size 11 shoes in a diner. ( Get it?  A yeti is big foot, ha ha).

Additionally, Ambria is just plain annoying.  Focus on the clothes not these girls' un-entertaining lives.  We also had the treat of watching Wilson eat dinner with Karina's family.   Wilson is the only beam of sunshine in the show's cast, but I am a sucker for the token fabulous gay sidekick.   Karina's family seems as yawn inducing as everyone else in the shop.
